MuseumNext is Europe’s big conference on innovation and technology in museums.

We believe that technology is changing the expectations of museum audiences, they no longer want to have information just broadcast at them, they want to create, to curate and to co-produce experiences.

Through our events we encourage new thinking and create a platform to discuss 'what next?'

MUSEUMNEXT NEWCASTLEGATESHEAD

Now in its sixth year, MuseumNext is established as the must attend event for anyone interested in innovation and technology in the future of museums.


Our conference in NewcastleGateshead will offer three streams of presentations, workshops and unconference sessions, as well as a series of fringe events.


MuseumNext attracts delegates from all around the globe and offers a unique chance to network with those shaping the future of museums.

NEWCASTLE GATESHEAD

Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Gateshead are two cities sitting either side of the River Tyne in North East England. Formerly a centre of heavy industry and coal mining, the cities became known for cultural regeneration with millions invested in the development of new museums, galleries, theatres and public art.




MuseumNext will take delegates to three of these cultural venues, the £70 million Sage Gateshead, the iconic Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and the impressive Great North Museum.

Looking back

MuseumNext 2013 took place in Amsterdam, bringing together over 400 delegates from over 40 countries.


MuseumNext Amsterdam will be remembered not only for the brilliant presentations, but also the fantastic conversations and great social events.


Highlights included keynotes from the Rijksmuseum, Science Museum, Smithsonian and the Science Gallery and a social event.
